The Direct Marketing Laws

£45 +VAT per person

This online course provides learners with a guide to the laws on direct marketing, with a particular focus on The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR).

Not all companies have heard of PECR, but if you use the phone or any electronic methods to contact people (SMS, email, direct messages via social media), then you are bound by these rules.

If the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) were to come knocking about a possible breach, the question that comes up every time is: "Please provide copies of any policies, procedures or training materials used to inform staff about PECR."

As a solicitor that specialises in regulatory law, I have vast experience in advising companies on data protection and direct marketing matters and have defended many cases before the ICO.

Such experience means I am able to draw upon real life cases throughout this training, putting the laws and guidance into perspective for learners.

This course is delivered online and is accessed on a per learner basis. It typically takes one hour to complete, but you can work at your own pace with no time restrictions. You will have three attempts to pass each test, which require you to get all but one question correct to continue to the next section. I want this course to be easily accessible for all participants, so if you have particular access needs (for example, visual impairment, dyslexia, deafness etc.) please contact me so we can work together to achieve as positive an experience as we can for you.
